Our 10 Favorite Football Foods (Classics Edition)
Football season is here, and we could not be more excited! There is really nothing like watching the games on Sunday with drinks, food, and friends. Maybe you are a tailgating fan and like to fire up the BBQ out in the stadium parking lot. No matter what your football season prerogative is, snacks and food will probably be within arms reach. Here are ten of our favorite football foods (in no particular order).
1. Wings
Wings are a classic football food and are enjoyed by millions of football fans across the country every year. A new report has said that Americans will eat 18,000 chicken wings in their lifetime. That’s an average of about 24 per month, or 290 a year. Would you like bleu cheese or ranch with that statistic?
2. Queso Dip
Queso dip has been a fan favorite for as long as we can remember. Gooey cheese sauce, taco meat, and a jar of salsa (Sweet Kickin Medium anybody?) make this football food great for any watch party.
3. Pizza
Ahh yes, one of the most popular football menu items. Pizza is great because it is delicious and crazy convenient-they bring it right to your door. Pizza is a true crowd pleaser when it comes to football food.
4. Chili
Another classic football food that we adore. We love chili because you can make it any way you want! We make our chili a little spicier by adding half a jar of Spicy Habanero Sweet Kicking Salsa.
5. Chips and Salsa
Did you think we were going to make this list without mentioning chips and salsa? Chips and salsa are excellent for football get-togethers because they are not very messy and everybody loves them-trust us we have done our research on this one.
6. Cocktail Meatballs
We will take any excuse to eat meatballs by way of toothpick, and a football party is the perfect occasion for just that. You can make these homemade or buy them frozen-we won’t tell anyone if you take the easy route.
7. Burgers, Hot Dogs, and Bratwurst
We know that most people associate these three foods with baseball, but they are also a perfect football food. We think that as long as you can fire up the grill, you should fire up the grill as far into football season as you can.
8. Sub Sandwiches
Maybe not the most exciting food on this list, but let’s not forget that these are a fantastic football food. You can eat them with one hand and most people can’t say no to a good ol’ sub sandwich. If you are having a huge party, you also won’t have to worry about them getting cold while everyone is watching the game.
9. Tacos
Tacos are pretty high on our list when it comes to all-time favorite foods, so we kind of had to add them to this list. Everyone loves tacos. The only thing you have to worry about with tacos is making sure you have enough salsa for everybody!
10. Veggie Tray
Okay, hear us out on this one. No football party is complete without a veggie tray. Does everybody love the veggie tray the same way they love pizza? No, but you will have some people up in arms if there is not a veggie tray at your football party.
