Step to the side bland side dishes. The salsa is here to turn things up a notch.

Salsa Dishes for Your Summer

There are tons of ways to amp up your favorite summer foods, but nothing does a better job than salsa. Beyond incorporating it into your main dish, there are also a number of ways to bring salsa into your favorite recipes, so we’ve decided to curate a list of a few ways you can spice up any of your get-togethers this summer.

Pasta with Salsa Cruda

Pasta is always a good side dish, but adding salsa in place of regular pasta sauce is something that not many people think about doing. You can even add ripe, juicy tomatoes or any other variation of accompaniments to make for a tasty, easy meal. This recipe is easily customizable, too, and you can add meat or shrimp and additional veggies if you feel like it. Add some fresh basil, pecorino, and lots of olive oil to make this side dish truly memorable.

Salsa Turkey Sliders

People often say that turkey burgers are tasteless and dry, but we highly disagree, especially when you have the option to add salsa. Any amount of salsa in your turkey patty keeps the burger juicy and makes the overall meal delicious and spicy. If you’re feeling up to it, you can skip the mustard, mayonnaise, or ketchup and add cilantro, guacamole, or some hot sauce to really pack on the flavors. We suggest throwing our Medium Salsa on turkey burgers for a little bit of kick and a whole lot of flavor.

Hoisin Glazed Mini Hot Dogs with Fresh Pineapple Salsa

Summer means barbecues, cookouts, and hot dogs. Now, we know making hot dogs is about as easy as it gets regarding when it comes to technical difficulty, but this recipe can separate you from the rest of the neighborhood with minimal amount of effort. Think of it like a chili dog, sans the chili and replaced with any flavor of your favorite salsa and any other condiments you can think of. Pair these with a yummy margarita and have one last great summer bash!

Scrambled Eggs with Salsa

This is a favorite of SKS founder John Surface. We’re fairly certain everyone has heard of this recipe, but it’s too good to possibly consider leaving off of the list, and if you’re getting a little bored of plain scrambled eggs this is a great way to spice up your breakfast (or dinner if you also believe breakfast can be had at any time of day). When your scrambled eggs are nearly done cooking, add a few spoonfuls of salsa over the top of your eggs and keep heating until warm and you’re ready to serve. That’s it, that’s all there is to it. Easy, right?!

Easy Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken with Black Beans

Believe it or not, this delicious recipe only requires four ingredients. Yes, you read that right. All you need is chicken, salsa, red pepper flakes, and black beans. Throw your chicken, salsa, and red pepper flakes into a slow cooker for about four hours and save the black beans for the last 30 minutes of cooking and you’re done. Heaven is served.

Okay, we aren’t happy about summer ending either, but we want you to take comfort in knowing that you can enjoy these yummy foods and Sweet Kickin Salsa year-round no matter what the temperature is. Enjoy these last few weeks of warmth and have a ball!
